The Entrepreneurial Journey - Its a roller-coaster of doubt, excitement, fear and elation. Trust me, I’ve been there. You see, after a high-flying career as a barrister, I lost it all. The big house, the supercars, the exotic holidays, the lifestyle. All gone.
At the age of 38, I had to start from scratch.
So, armed with the crazy post-it note idea to start managing a filling station, I set off on a journey that has changed my world. For 7 years I worked 7 days a week, often clocking in 100+ hours.
- It was a time of immense sacrifice and grit.
- I gave up alcohol entirely.
- I cut my own hair.
- I worked Christmas Day for 7 years.
- I didn’t go on holiday.
- My family ate out of date food.
I did all of this to invest the maximum amount of time and money into the future that I possibly could.
Along the journey I’ve been robbed, held up at knife- point, had cars smashed, tyres slashed, lied about, lied to and made a lifetime of mistakes.
